The Door I Kept Reopening
For weeks, I kept hoping he would become the man I imagined instead of accepting the man he showed me he was.
The connection was intense, but intensity is not intimacy.
Every time I asked for something real, there was distance. Every time I saw a red flag, I explained it away. Every time God showed me the misalignment, I chose potential over reality.
The hardest part wasn't losing him.
The hardest part was letting go of the fantasy of what I hoped he would become.
Healing began when I stopped asking, "Why won't he choose me?" and started asking, "Why am I ignoring what he's already showing me?"
God was not withholding something good from me. He was protecting me from a relationship that was never aligned with His best for my life.
📖 Ephesians 5:6 "Let no one deceive you with empty words..."
May we stop being captivated by words, chemistry, and potential, and start paying attention to actions, character, and alignment.
Sometimes the most loving thing we can do is stop reopening doors that God has already closed. 🤍
